I earned dual degrees in English (A.B) and English Education (B.S.Ed) from the University of Georgia before continuing my education with an M.A. in Appalachian Studies (culture concentration) at Appalachian State University. Currently, I am taking courses toward a graduate certificate in eLearning Design and am enjoying exploring how technology can enhance learning solutions in higher education.
Before returning to UGA, in 2014, to work as an academic advisor, I held numerous jobs within the broad field of education, from adjunct instructor to tutor. Advising pre-professional mass communication students sparked my interest in how young pre-professionals develop and continue to grow throughout their careers. Right now, I’m working on an e-portfolio program to help my intended-Grady College advisees jumpstart their pre-professional development. I hope to further explore instructional design and development projects aimed at promoting integrative, lifelong learning for personal, professional, and organizational development and plan to continue my studies along these lines.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, gardening, watching films and making music with my synthesizer-obsessed husband, Michael.
